We think we’re part of the free world, but we’ve never been so wrong
As time is being moved out of joint we cannot imagine any defiance
Somehow thinking that we’re unaffected when we stand against the racing standstill
We’ve lost the will and resolve to move away as all alliances have long been broken apart
Our hearts die somewhere in silence
In search of resolution, in the name of progress
What was set in motion has spun out of control
If truth is spoken at the end of all this
And what will be heard we cannot imagine
And I feel this is how the story ends
Our lives now derailed by momentum
We cannot see the outcome anymore
We’ve lost all hope and vision to make it out
Deluded by profusion and unrelenting need
So we wander alone as all that is solid melts into air
Lost in isolation we cannot prevail against these odds
Our minds turn into overdrive to endure this terminal state of being
In the face of revolution, in the name of progress
What was set in motion has spun out of control
If truth is spoken at the end of all this

A whispering silence, a call looming from beyond
A longing for sleep that brings rest from all the grief
Past friends, past lovers, past all the earthly content I found volition in self-abandonment
See the fortress wiped out by rain and hail standing in the dim light of an evenstar
Breaching the core; exploding into a thousand gleaming sparks for all to see
The storm is settling, the fortress lies in ruins, just to be built anew
Staring into the void black static fills the eyes
I’m driving the blazing lance into the heart of darkness
So for all the deeds left undone; all the words unspoken
I bid thee farewell my friend; forever fare thee well
Or can’t you hear the whispers in the deep?
Flickering flames are slowly gathering to burst into a new sun
A star born from the gaping hollows of a lonesome heart
This legacy of a broken soul
Carry it out into the world, so the new disciples, they shall follow the longest trail
At last he is calling me home, back into the mirk
I bid thee farewell my friend; forever fare thee well
A few moments may remain to stand atop the pantheon of dreams
Its shadow cast into the emptiness inside
Victorious beneath the wavering stars and scattered clouds

Offworld to a place where fortune lies
Far from this smeared neon glow and rainy nights
Down here where no answers were to be found
Driven to escape without avail and against all odds
A new life awaits you they preached, asking where we will be when all comes crashing down
If all lose ends meet, we must not fail, for with this comes the end swallowing us whole
We lay dying at the eve of our days, beneath dimly lit skies, brimming with life
As your blood ran cold and my heart stopped beating
Now embraced, our mortal remains
Still we’ve seen like pyres on the firmament, these glorious bursts of posthuman transience
The scent of burning flesh filled our nostrils
A blissful feeling of victory pulsating within
It was a call of destiny and we answered
We held the day in the palm of our hand
Once echoing threnodies for the fallen, now silenced by time
I’ll tell your fervid heart what it was like to be alive
Of flashes of light piercing through the darkness
I’ll tell of signs of struggle, now long forgotten
When memory has become corrupted and we’re long gone

When we can’t see beyond the obvious
We’re falling victim to shortsighted social constructs
Break’em down to the essential
Now take a good look and see
Claim the moral high ground and set yourselves up for the fall
Our public discourse poisoned by self-righteousness
We are so afraid of all that is real
Confirmation bias is all that we seek
You’re caught inside the echo chamber
Forge ahead as the leader of movement
As I try to free myself of this delusion by entering a new state of revolt
These dead letters pass for a better solution
So we’re just as guilty as our fellow man
Nothing but fact resistant beliefs
A statute of emotion not thought
I can no longer stand this complacency
As I cut off this nefarious stream of words
For in this debate there’s no place for reason or logic
All hidden in self re-assurance
No normative sense of self
